Recent design improvements have lowered the weight of Clorius 3-way valves, which, combined with our rigid system of quality control at every stage of production, means smooth sailing for the profit minded ship owner.

New types of electronic controllers

Two new types of electronic temperature controllers have been introduced recently.Type ER 2000 is a simple PI(D) temperature controller. For easy start-up it has optimization for automatic determination of favourable control parameters. Type ER 3000 is a double loop PI(D) controller which is used where a conventional single loop controller cannot maintain a constant and precise temperature. Large engine jacket cooling water systems can be mentioned as an installation example.

Experiences show that using single loop controllers for this application can give some high temperature fluctuations in the cooling water system, especially when starting and stopping the freshwater generator. Such fluctuations are avoided by using the new type of controller.

A price competitive, high quality temperature control solution for open deck installations. Temperature control on open deck requires controllers that can withstand sea water. For this purpose Clorius has developed a high quality self-acting thermostat. All metallic parts of the thermostat are made of stainless steel and the thermostat is fully sealed. Compared with other solutions, pneumatic or electric, this solution is very low-priced.

The Croatian shipyard 3. Mai Brodogradiliste D. D. has decided to use this solution for their new buildings nos 683 and 684. Each of the new buildings are equipped with 30 controllers.
