THE Danish Navy has destroyed a small boat carrying seven suspected Somali pirates. It appears the pirates boat had broken down and the men were out of drinking water. The Danish warship HDMS Absalon responded to calls for help but realised they were likely to be pirates when firearms and rocket launcher were found in the boat. The suspects were then taken aboard the Absalon and the boat was sunk.

It is not clear whether the seven men were arrested but they were taken to a Yemeni port for landing.
